Basic Position Overview


Inside Sales Representatives will offer solar thermal and swimming pool heating systems plus renewable/environmental products to our highly interested sales prospects.

We are a rapidly growing company with a team spirited environment. We are seeking a high energy individual to serve customers - providing product information and sales assistance via interaction by phone and/or email.

Individual should be a self-starter, motivated, fast learner, and have good verbal and written communication skills in a sales situation. Knowledge of computers, Windows, Word, Internet Explorer, and Outlook is a must: Excel and CAD a plus. A knowledge of solar thermal water heating is a must, and pool heating (solar and/or heat pumps) is a strong plus – these will be the primary products for new team members. Additional knowledge in other renewable technologies is an added bonus and can help with promotions and additional income potential.

We offer on-going training for product knowledge, which is a key element to provide customer assistance and for closing sales. Home office candidates must have high speed internet and reliable mid to high end computer required w/headset and cam – see Technology Requirements



Basic Position Requirements


Remote office setting free from noise and distractions

Experience: Minimum two years in sales

Commitment of 30 - 40 hours per week between 9AM and 7PM EST

Two or more years of experience in telemarketing or
   inside/outside sales


Knowledge of Pool and/or Energy Industry preferred

Computer proficiency in Windows, Internet, Word, Outlook/Email,    Web Applications, etc is required

Excellent communication skills including both verbally and written

Ability to create sales proposals and presentations

Illustrate an outgoing personality and demonstrate
   personal confidence




Job Description and Responsibilities

Primary Function: Provide assistance to customers in making informed purchase decisions.

I. Office Responsibilities:

A. Maintain a consistent work shift as approved by Director of Sales; shifts will be started promptly as assigned. Changes to the schedule will be requested in writing with at least 24 hours advance notice. If late for a shift, Sales Rep will advise Director of Sales or assistant prior to shift, or as soon as possible. Consistent tardiness or missed shifts will be handled under the standard rules of the Company Handbook.

B. Time must be logged on TraxTime; Specific duties must be logged to track percentage of allotted time in each area. Maintain short meaningful notes for projects. Maintain a backup record on personal workstation and/or paper. Failure to record time results in no pay.

C. Complete the Sales Person Daily Report throughout the day and submit to Director of Sales at the end of each day.

D. Maintain a MSN (or similar) video/chat connection with the Director of Sales throughout the daily shift.

E. Develop and provide a professional, friendly communication style with customers and company staff.

F. Develop and maintain an organized work area and records.

G. Set and review goals weekly. Balance work load to meet goals in the time allotted.


II. Sales Responsibilities:

A. Answer incoming customer inquiries via phone and email. Provide accurate information to customers, providing requested information and alternative solutions as available. If questions are beyond the scope of the Reps knowledge, they will advise the customer, and offer to research the answer and/or forward to the appropriate Rep.

B. Obtain complete and accurate customer contact information and other details as necessary. Enter all information in Prospect database.

C. Perform a follow up contact by email and/or phone.

D. Provide assistance to customers completing online orders; when possible process orders directly to insure accurate orders. Confirm all information, and strive for accurate professional entries. Complete and submit all necessary paperwork to the Ops Dept for each order.

E. Develop cross-selling and up-selling techniques.

F. Perform other sales functions including but not limited to outbound sales campaigns via phone, email, or mail as directed.

III. Training and Education:

A. Attend and be involved in Staff Coaching meetings. Learn and practice techniques for personal development and team interaction.

B. Attend and be involved in Sales Training meetings to learn product knowledge and sales techniques. Work together to initiate concepts and ideas which provide a solution for communication and sales needs.

C. Obtain product knowledge through Training Sessions, reading our web pages, consulting with the Director of Sales and/or other Sales Reps, and general research of product literature and product websites. Become familiar with all products on the shopping cart. Chose a product each month to learn in detail.

D. Stay current with trends and technology by reading journals and by attending classes, seminars, tradeshows and workshops.

IV. Performance Review

A. Performance will be evaluated by several factors: TraxTime logs, Sales Revenues, Product Knowledge, Motivation, Consistency, Team Spirit, etc.

B. Strive to justify weekly earnings by a formula of no less than .05% of the average annual gross dollar volume of sales achieved.

C. Performance will be reviewed every three months. A minimum level of performance is required to maintain position; outstanding performance will be considered and rewarded.

D. Standard Bonus will be given as per the company bonus plan based on company revenue.

V. Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

A. Assist in keeping department office area organized and clean.

B. Maintain all necessary departmental records, personal files, and memos.

C. Work with other departments to ensure streamlined operations.

VI. Professional Qualifications

A. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.

B. Work together as a team to grow the company and each team member.

C. Education

i. Two or more years of college education preferred.

ii. Strong leaning skills.

D. Experience

i. Two or more years of sales experience.

ii. Knowledge of Pool and/or Energy Industry preferred

E. Professional Skills

i. Relate well with others.

ii. Must be able to work on numerous projects at once.

iii. Understand basic computer skills – Windows, Internet, Word, Outlook/Email, Web Applications, etc.

iv. Communicate clearly both verbally and in written form.

v. Creation of sales proposals and presentations.

vi. Illustrate an outgoing personality and demonstrate personal confidence.

vii. Character makeup should be appropriate for sales position based on standard DISC test.
