» OUC Orlando Utility Commission

*Program available to the first 1,200 kW equivalent of Residential solar thermal generation capacity and the first 2,000 kW of General Service solar thermal generation capacity. Monthly credit of 3.0 cents per kWh. Low interest loan options.

» JEA Jacksonville Electric Authority

The incentive applies only to the installation of a solar water heating system:
$800 per installation to qualified residential customers.
30% of the system's cost for qualified pre-approved commercial systems with $5,000 maximum limit.

» Progress Energy

$450 up front credit to offset your purchase of a solar water heating system.
Monthly EnergyWise credits for covered devices.
EnergyWise monthly pool pump credit.

» FPL Sunshine Energy® Sun Funds

The Sun Funds program offers additional rebates of $1.50 per watt to recipients of State solar electric rebates - on a first come, first served basis. Limitations apply. Note that this is a limited time offer! 02/18/08 Note: No longer accepting applications. The first round of Sun Funds is now fully allocated. FPL and the Florida PSC will review the results and consider continuing the program later this year.


Federal Incentives

Energy Policy Act of 2005
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 provides tax credits to offset the costs of purchasing solar systems for your home or business. Specific incentives include:

  • A 30% Tax Credit for commercial PV or solar hot water systems with no maximum
  • A 30% Tax Credit for residential PV or solar water systems with a $2,000 maximum
  • Up to a $500 Tax Credit for qualifying energy efficiency upgrades in existing homes
  • Up to a $2,000 Tax Credit to builders for each new construction home that achieves a 50% reduction in energy use compared with the national building energy code
  • A $1.80 per sq. foot Tax Deduction for commercial building efficiency improvements that achieve a 50% improvement

Florida State Incentives
The 2006 Florida Energy Act provides additional rebates & tax incentives to help reduce the costs of purchasing solar systems for your home/business. Specific incentives include:

  • $500 Rebate for installing a residential solar water heater
  • $100 Rebate for installing a solar pool heater
  • $4/Watt - up to $20,000 for installing a solar electric system on your home
  • $4/Watt - up to $100,000 for installing a solar electric system on business or public facility
  • $15/BTU/Day up to $5,000 for installing a solar hot water system on your business
